Candidates for the CSM certification, which is recognized globally throughout the shopping center industry must have several years of proven shopping center management experience and have mastered a comprehensive body of industry knowledge. The formal designation is achieved by the passage of a rigorous examination process that tests a professional's expertise in a broad range of management areas including; maintenance, leasing negotiations or administration, retailing, merchandising, marketing or promotion, community relations, financing, purchasing insurance, security and legal functions.
