EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Sept. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MWW (www.mww.com), one of the top-five global independent public relations firms, announced that during the winter and spring PR awards season its New Jersey Economic Development Authority's "Stronger than the Storm" (STTS) campaign was recognized as one of the industries best campaigns by collecting more than 20 major awards including some of the top honors in the industry. STTS was a fully integrated marketing communications plan intended to revitalize visitors' perceptions of the Jersey Shore in response to the destruction left by Superstorm Sandy and false perceptions of its aftermath.
Notably, the STTS campaign received a the SABRE "North American Campaign of the Year" award, a PRSA Silver Anvil in the category of events and observances, and most recently was recognized as "Best in Show" at the PRSA Pyramid Awards.
"New Jersey is home for many MWW team members and this campaign holds special significance for so many of us," said Michael W. Kempner, president and CEO of MWW.
"Having an opportunity to do what we love while supporting the rehabilitation of the state where MWW was founded is both a humbling and deeply rewarding experience. While we are honored to receive this continued recognition from our peers in the PR industry, the media and other key industry experts, the greatest satisfaction came from the extraordinary results of the campaign and its contribution to the rebuilding of the economy of the Jersey Shore."
The STTS campaign, put in motion in wake of Hurricane Sandy, aimed to change misperceptions and drive a return of visitor traffic to the Jersey Shore. Integrating public relations, advertising, marketing, event activations, public affairs and social media, the campaign helped revitalize the economic development of the shore's 130-mile coastline. The Jersey Shore was the only U.S. shore area to see an increase in hotel occupancy every month as the summer progressed in 2013. STTS holds highest honors from the PRSA Pyramid Awards, SABRE Awards, Bulldog Media Awards, American Business Awards and International Business Awards.
