Winters to Bring Integrated Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Expertise to Clients Across All Practices as MWWPR's Chief Strategist
NEW YORK, Feb. 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MWWPR Founder and CEO Michael W. Kempner announced today that Carreen Winters has been promoted to the position of Chairman of Reputation and Chief Strategy Officer. In her new role, Winters will work across the agency to develop integrated communications programs across all disciplines and stakeholders to help clients meet their critical business objectives.
"For more than two decades, Carreen has served in an instrumental role at MWWPR, leading our most complex and challenging assignments and building our corporate reputation practice into a signature of our agency," said Kempner. "This ability to develop clear and actionable strategy quickly, and amidst significant complexity, has been invaluable to our clients and the agency. With the democratization of information and the speed at which stakeholders are converging and influencing each other, this capability is increasingly important across all aspects of PR, not just corporate communications. In this role, Carreen will bring her industry leading strategic thinking and creative, integrated programming that will help clients navigate today's environment more effectively, and with an eye towards all of their stakeholders."
Winters will now chair the corporate reputation practice of MWWPR, and will expand her scope to include integrated strategy development for both brand and corporate clients. In addition, she will lead and expand MWWPR's thought leadership on reputation management, as well as the development of new products and service offerings to meet evolving client needs.
Kempner added, "Carreen is the go-to person in our agency for anything that is particularly complex, time sensitive or mission critical. Her ability to quickly identify the critical issues and make strategic recommendations is something her clients and colleagues value greatly, and in this role, she will be more available to all of our clients, regardless of their practices or geographies, in keeping with our one P&L model."
Carreen joined MWWPR as an entry level professional in 1991, and has worked in every major practice area of the firm, bringing an integrated, 360-degree approach to PR strategy, planning and execution. Working closely with Michael Kempner, Carreen developed many of the agency's proprietary services including the CEO EquityBuilder methodology for building executive eminence to benefit reputation. Carreen was the architect of MWW's recently launched HerVoice practice, a specialty service offering for women in leadership. Carreen has served on the crisis response team of several major US airlines, and is a noted expert in corporate and brand positioning, executive eminence building, issues and crisis management and labor relations.
Carreen is a prominent thought leader on all aspects of corporate reputation, and is a frequent speaker and media commentator on crisis and issues management, including appearances on CNN, ESPN and as a regularly featured expert in the Wall Street Journal's Crisis of the Week. She is an award-winning blogger, and has won every industry award including Sabre, PR Week and Silver Anvils. She was named to the inaugural list of PR News' Top Women in PR, and to the NJ Biz 40 Under 40 for her expertise in restructuring.
"The practice of public relations is dynamic and constantly changing, creating new challenges for us as both counselors and practitioners. I am proud to be part of an agency team that works to continually look around the corner, anticipating client needs and providing support for their business objectives," said Winters. "Whether we are making purchase decisions, investment choices or determining if we want to accept a job offer, reputation has become a unifying criterion across all stakeholders. I am looking forward to working with all of our agency leaders and clients to leverage this dynamic to create effective communications strategies in support of our clients across the entire spectrum of their business. MWWPR is a very special agency, and I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to customize my career to align with my interests and priorities over the years."
