Muscle Milk® Selects 22 High School Athletic Programs Nationwide to Receive $250,000 in Grants
Second-year program has provided $500,000 to high school athletic programs in need
BENICIA, Calif., April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CytoSport®, one of the largest sports nutrition companies in the United States and maker of Muscle Milk®, announced today the 22 high school athletic programs that will receive grants this year as part of the 2013 Muscle Milk Recovery Grant Program. In its second year, the program accepted applications from May through November and received more than 600 submissions from high schools in need across the country. Muscle Milk will provide a total of $250,000 in grants this year to help rebuild and revitalize the following high school athletic programs:

Grants vary in the amount awarded based on each school's requested need and will be provided to the school to fund their revitalizations as outlined in their application. The girls track program at Edwin Denby High School outside of Detroit will use their grant money to fund new uniforms and warm-ups and purchase of a starting block and tent for practice and meets.
"I believe in my track team, and I constantly tell them you must have hope," said Denby High School Girls Track Head Coach Erik Thompson. "When you live in a neighborhood surrounded by blight and despair, your hope and fate are definitely tested. CytoSport has shown my girls that fate does exist and that there are companies who are willing to support the development of student-athletes and provide an opportunity to better themselves.
