MINNEAPOLIS, March 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Muir Glen™ celebrated two new products and announced new product attributes today at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, Calif. (Booth #3538). In January, Muir Glen introduced two delicious products to the brand's lineup of organic canned tomato varieties: new recipes for Mild and Medium Salsas and the 2013 Reserve Tomato harvest. "We made tremendous progress in 2013 toward our goal of setting the standard for sustainable farming practices and continuing to supply our customers with delicious organic tomatoes," said Scott Lee, marketing director for Muir Glen. "Natural Products Expo West is the perfect place for us to celebrate our recent successes and share news of our latest products with our customers and the industry as a whole."
NEW PRODUCTS FROM MUIR GLEN
In January 2014, Muir Glen released its 2013 Reserve Tomato harvest, which represents the pinnacle of organic tomatoes. Grown and canned with the same level of passion as a delectable reserve wine, the Muir Glen Reserve Tomato harvest is grown each season on a specially selected 13-acre plot of land on a Muir Glen California farm. This year's Reserve line features the Halley, a rare tomato variety known for its sweet flavor and color, and is available at select retailers nationwide through October 2014 as Diced and Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes in 14.5oz cans (MSRP $2.00).
Also in January 2014, Muir Glen introduced all new Mild and Medium salsa recipes. The new salsas are made using organic tomatoes, vine-ripened under the California sun and picked at peak flavor and jarred once a year within hours of the tomato harvest. Muir Glen also continues to offer Organic Salsa in three additional flavors: Garlic Cilantro, Chipotle and Black Bean & Corn. All Muir Glen salsas are available in 16oz jars (MSRP $5.19).
