Morrison & Foerster Releases Results To Advance@Work™ Workplace Bullying 2013-2014 Study
NEW YORK, Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Morrison & Foerster's Advance@Work program has released the results of its Advance@Work Workplace Bullying 2013-2014 Study. The workplace bullying survey was conducted online and accessible to survey participants through the Internet, the Advance@Work iOS app, the Advance@Work blog, and the Advance@Work Twitter feed. From December 2013 through February 2014, 101 individuals participated in the survey, and the significant results were as follows:
- Only 1 participant responded that his/her employer provided training on workplace bullying.
- Only 3 participants responded that their employers maintained workplace policies relating to workplace bullying.
- Less than 7 percent of participants stated that they had bullied a co-worker. The majority of participants who had bullied a co-worker said that they did so because the target was a poor performer or because the target was unethical at work.
"It's clear from these survey results that more training is needed by employers in this area of critical and growing importance," said Sharon Parella, a partner at Morrison & Foerster and leader of its Advance@Work program. "Workplace bullying is a problem that's getting greater attention and employers need to be prepared."
