More Than 100 Chilean Businessmen to Take Part in MinExpo in the U.S.
- Chilean mining industry delegation to attend North America's biggest trade fair. Brought together by ProChile, they will be presenting exhibits and networking with the world's leading mining companies.
SANTIAGO, Chile, Sept. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MinExpo, the mining industry's biggest trade fair, will be taking place in Las Vegas in the United States, from September 24th to 26th. The Chilean delegation is made up of more than 100 executives visiting the fair and 12 companies that will be exhibiting their products on stands located in the pavilion that ProChile will have at the Convention Center.
The activities scheduled for the fair will include the inauguration of the Chilean pavilion under the supervision of ProChile's Commercial Director in Los Angeles, Francisco Correa, a cocktail reception for networking with companies and visitors at the fair, and a series of meetings of the national delegation with those of Australia, South America and North America, among others. (A schedule of activities is attached).
"This is one of the mining industry's most important events in the United States and consequently, for a great deal of the world. Among the companies presenting their products in the stands and those attending as visitors, we have managed to bring more than 100 businessmen who are coming to MinExpo for an opportunity to do business and work out ideas. We are hoping to make the most of this, and establish Chile's name among Latin America's major suppliers in mining," noted Francisco Correa, Commercial Director for ProChile in Los Angeles in the U.S.
MinExpo is the trade fair where for 3 days once every four years the elite of the world mining industry gets together. Here, businessmen and executives have a unique opportunity to learn about new technology in the industry and make contact with some 30,000 participants.
Chileans in attendance
This is one of the biggest delegations to attend a mining industry fair, which reflects just how important MinExpo is to Chilean executives.
The national pavilion has 7.6-square meter stands for each one of the companies exhibiting at the fair. In addition, there will be meeting spaces and a central location for ProChile where visitors can find out more about the Chilean presence. There will also be an exhibit of the Phoenix Capsule that rescued the trapped miners in 2010.
Engineering and industrial manufacturing services will be featured among the dozen stands, along with exhibits on technological solutions, safety and spare parts, among other things. Trade associations and other groups will also be present.
"To the U.S., Chile is a key actor in mining. In 2011, U.S. imports of copper and copper manufactures added up to US$11.436 billion, with a growth of 30% in comparison with 2010. Thus, Chile has positioned itself as its principal supplier," Correa concludes.
