Montage Investments and Consilium Investment Management Launch New Small Cap Emerging Markets Fund
The fund provides access to small-cap issuers that are economically tied to emerging markets
LEAWOOD, Kan., Jan. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Montage Investments today announced it has launched the Consilium Emerging Market Small Cap Fund, a mutual fund that is sub advised by Consilium Investment Management.
The Consilium Emerging Market Small Cap Fund, which trades under ticker symbols CEMSX and CEMNX, invests in securities of emerging market small-cap issuers with a goal of providing long-term capital appreciation for investors. The fund is managed by Montage and sub advised by Consilium Investment Management, which is led by a tenured investment team with more than 75 years of experience managing emerging and frontier market strategies through major market cycles.
"The Consilium team's familiarity with global markets and a wide range of companies located throughout various emerging market economies is second to none," said Gary P. Henson, CFA, CFP®, president and chief investment officer of Montage Investments. "Montage searched for a qualified partner to help us provide access to global emerging markets, and I am confident that we have identified a best-in-class sub-advisor in Consilium Investment Management. I look forward to the opportunities this fund will bring to our advisors and clients."
According to Jonathan Binder, chief investment officer and portfolio manager of Consilium Investment Management, "We are thrilled to be partnering with Montage Investments to launch the Emerging Market Small Cap Fund. I believe our team's experience in the emerging markets space, combined with Montage's history of offering distinct investments to solve the challenges of advisors and their clients will allow us to enhance clients' portfolios with an emerging markets fund that is designed to meet their needs."
Consilium Investment Management uses a focused, non-indexed, rifle shot approach when making investment decisions. The investment team conducts in-depth, bottom-up fundamental analysis on both individual companies and countries to identify opportunities across the globe. Key to the investment decision-making process is frequent travel and in-person meetings with senior management teams at companies of interest.
The Consilium Emerging Market Small Cap Fund is the latest in a series of new mutual funds offered by Montage Investments and its affiliates. In 2013, the firm also helped launch the Convergence Opportunities Fund, the Tortoise North American Energy Independence Fund, The Tortoise Select Opportunities Fund, and Palmer Square's Fountain Short Duration High Income Fund.

These risks are greater for Emerging Markets. Investing in smaller companies may be more volatile and less liquid than the securities of large-cap companies. The value of an investment in a REIT can be hurt by economic downturns or by changes in real estate values, rents, property taxes, interest rates, tax treatment, regulations, or the legal structure of a real estate investment trust.
