MobileCause Introduces ONEbyONE - New Mobile Mentor Program
Opening Doors for Hundreds of Smaller Charities to Use Mobile Fundraising Tools for Free
LOS ANGELES, May 4, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With over 1.5 million established nonprofits in the United States, more than 50% of these charities raise under $500,000 a year from donations. Many of these charities often are more impactful on a local and sometimes even regional level than larger more prominently supported charities. As good as their services are, often they do not have the budget to use a diversity of fundraising tools. 99% of the charities in the U.S. raising under $500,000 annually are not using mobile tools. MobileCause, the leading web service platform provider for mobile fundraising, CRM, and donor communication for nonprofits in the U.S., is changing that. Today, MobileCause launched a new mobile mentor program called ONEbyONE to increase mobile philanthropy and provide essential mobile tools free-of-charge to smaller nonprofits. This program is the first of its kind in both the nonprofit and mobile giving space that allows large and medium nonprofits to support a charity of their choosing. ONEbyONE will provide hundreds of early stage and smaller charities new and free access to various mobile solutions. Mobile communication, CRM and fundraising have rapidly become the fastest growing new technology tools designed for the nonprofit world. ONEbyONE will assist charities in raising many more thousands of dollars for their causes.
ONEbyONE was born out of the desire to develop a mentoring community surrounding mobile technology and tools for NPOs. "Nonprofits have a rich history of helping one another learn best practices, establish professional standards, and in general share ideas. We thought it was important for MobileCause to demonstrate, in a tangible way, our commitment to raising the tide of knowledge and use of state of the art mobile tools that will empower deserving startup and smaller nonprofits," states MobileCause Chairman & CEO, Douglas Plank.
How ONEbyONE works: A supporting charity signs up for MobileCause service. The supporting charity must have raised more than $500,000 during their prior fundraising fiscal year and sign up for MobileCause's Pro or Starter Package. Once signed up, the NPO then nominates a charity with annual revenues under $500,000 to receive the MobileCause Intro Package. The normal monthly fee and mobile messaging charges will be free of charge. The Intro package includes non-carrier billing options and a variety of tools for building mobile lists, running polls, and building CRM. The value to a recipient charity is more than $1,300 over the course of a year. The mentoring and consultant advice offered by the sponsoring charity could be worth several thousand dollars alone. ONEbyONE will provide much needed support and service for hundreds of charities and their need to use mobile to contribute to their overall development goals. In an effort to build a bigger and better mobile giving community, MobileCause will be implementing the ONEbyONE mobile mentor program as a permanent offer.
"As a MobileCause client we have fully embraced the long term benefits of implementing mobile communication, CRM, and fundraising throughout our organization. ONEbyONE is a tremendous example of responsible corporate philanthropy that will help 100's if not thousands of smaller/start-up charities, doing very important work, afford the implementation of these vital and timely communication and fundraising tools. We look forward to identifying a nonprofit who will benefit from the Salvation Army's opportunity to influence receipt of these services at no cost," adds Major George Hood, The Salvation Army's national community relations and development secretary.
ONEbyONE is a new tool offered by MobileCause to provide greater mobile solutions to charities of all sizes.
