M&M Productions to Commence Filming Initial Stages of Production of Reality Series "Baristas" Show Chronicles Drive Through Coffee Chain's Attempt to Compete With Starbucks by Casting Hot Young Girls as Servers
Baristas Reality Show to Begin Filming by Emmy-Winning Producers
SEATTLE, Jan. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Baristas Coffee Company, Inc. (OTCPK:BCCI) announced today that the filming of a reality show currently in its initial stages of production about their drive through coffee chain likened by some as Starbucks meets Hooters, will commence the second week of February.
M&M Productions will produce and Mark Teitelman will direct, according to Barry Henthorn, CEO.
"The show will be a character driven, drama-filled adventure and a true soap opera, said Mark Mayer," CEO of M&M Productions. The first season will take place in Seattle, Baristas' home base. In Seattle they have six locations and a mansion called the Coffee Castle. The girls, called Baristas will compete with each other in a series of challenges to determine who gets the best shift (girls can make up to $500 a day in gratuities) and who gets to live in the opulent Coffee Castle. Every week 35 new girls will audition for spots at the locations that have been vacated by girls who failed to meet the challenges. Along the way we learn about the lives of the girls and the two entrepreneurs who founded Barista's, Barry and Scott along with the girls supervisors as they try to run the business. All of Baristas' locations feature girls in themed evocative costumes each with a very different persona. Customers will be invited to vote for their favorite girls and the results will figure into the weekly challenges. Competition between the girls will take place at the locations, the Coffee Castle and on promotional trips where the founders, Scott and Barry will be opening new locations around the country.
Mark Teitelman commented. "This is about two owners going after the American Dream, their coffee empire is built one smokin' hot chick at a time." He continued by stating, "There are some very compelling dynamics amongst extremely strong characters driven by the real life consequences and opportunities."
M&M Productions is known for their production of FOX television's poker series, "The Million Dollar Challenge," the most watched poker show in television history. Mark Mayer the founder of M&M has produced shows for Keith Oberman, Dick Vitale, Jessee Ventura, Jay Mohr and Dennis Miller.
