NEW YORK, Sept. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the news of Apple discontinuing its photo print services on September 30, 2018, Mimeo Photos, announces today that it will continue to offer users the same end product that customers have always received with Apple. As a longtime partner of Apple, serving as the production arm for the creation of print photo projects for several years, Mimeo will continue to produce photobooks, cards, and calendars. Beginning today, Mimeo Photos is unveiling a new conversion tool and Apple Photo Project Ordering Service. This tool allows Mimeo Photos customers to convert and reprint Apple photo projects instantly.
Among other project extensions, Mimeo Photos will be the only app capable of both converting and reprinting Apple Photos projects to its global customer base.
With over 100,000 downloads in 38 countries and counting, Mimeo Photos looks forward to providing past Apple users with a replicate product in addition to more design and creative assets. The update is available for free in the macOS store.
"I am very excited to share that this latest update for Mimeo Photos allows Apple users a source to convert, update, and reprint their most loved photo projects," remarked Nigel Barker, Creative Director, Mimeo Photos. "I created Apple photobooks for many years for my personal work and I can tell you that the simplicity of creating a project with Mimeo Photos is identical to the process of creating an Apple photobook. The quality is out of this world; so much so, that I just created a professional book with the App."
Apple Photo Project Ordering Service
Users from all over the world can continue to order Apple Projects by uploading a PDF to import.mimeophotos.com. With a library of identical Apple themes and more, the Apple Photo Project Ordering Service seamlessly matches the PDF to the correct theme for print.
The release comes after Mimeo's recent announcement unveiling the company as a select Apple print supplier for over 7 years. Reprinted Apple photobooks produced by Mimeo are identical to the original Apple prints. Themes, templates, product sizes, and quality are replicate to premium Apple standards.
"This release is a huge step forward in providing even more Apple users with a solution for their photo project needs. We are the only provider offering the capability to reprint and convert Apple projects," explained John Delbridge, CEO, Mimeo. "As a longtime Apple vendor, customers can maintain the same high-quality photobooks they've come to love, just under a new name."
Apple Photos Project Conversion Tool
In addition to the Apple Photo Project Ordering Service, photobooks, cards, and calendars initially designed with Apple can be converted into Mimeo Photos projects. Users simply open an existing Apple Project, click "Convert," and select Mimeo Photos.
Converted photo projects can be updated and customized using an even larger library of themes, layouts, and editing tools than Apple's offering.
This latest version of Mimeo Photos comes complete with higher functionality and more powerful creative features including:
- Tighter Apple Integration: Users can easily navigate between projects in addition to new drag and drop photo functionality.
- Round Trip Editing: Apple's easy-to-use editing tools are now available within the Mimeo Photos designer.
- Regional Holiday Support for Calendars: Regional holidays of 10 countries are supported when creating calendars.
"This is just the start. There are plenty more incredible features and design tools to come," Barker hinted.
Mimeo Photos is available globally as a free download in the macOS App Store.
