MiCTA Announces Amendment To Its CenturyLink Telecommunications Master Service Agreement
SAGINAW, Mich., Dec. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MiCTA, a national, non-profit technology group purchasing organization, is pleased to announce that it has accepted an amendment to Master Service Agreement 118EAN-TISA2010-0512 with CenturyLink. The amendment provides discounted pricing on CenturyLink's Proactive and Reactive DDOS Mitigation Services. Complete terms of CenturyLink's Master Service Agreement are available to MiCTA members at http://www.mictatech.org.
"CenturyLink's DDOS Mitigation Services provide a two-tiered approach to maintaining the security and integrity of our members' networks," says Tim von Hoff, Chief Operating Officer of MiCTA. "With the service, members can respond immediately to active denial of service attacks. At the same time, they can monitor routine network activity for signs of an emerging threat, and take action to prevent network disruption."
CenturyLink's DDOS mitigation services reroute suspicious traffic through its cloud infrastructure, allowing CenturyLink to isolate and eliminate malicious traffic before it reaches a member's network. The service is especially attractive to governmental and educational members because it can protect large VoIP networks and secure transaction services.
MiCTA negotiates group pricing discounts and value-added services for its membership nationwide. Members may take advantage of significant discounts on a wide range of telecommunications and technology purchases using MiCTA's competitively bid contracts. In most cases, members may use MiCTA contracts instead of conducting their own competitive bidding process for goods and services covered by MiCTA's Master Service Agreements.
Non-profit organizations of all types are eligible for membership in MiCTA. MiCTA's members include higher education institutions, K-12 schools and school districts, libraries, health care organizations, state and local governments, and charitable and religious organizations.
