MicroStrategy Announces Finalists of Customer Dashboard Competition
Highlights Ease-of-Use and Business Value of Information Dashboards
MCLEAN, Va., July 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence (BI) software, today announced that it is showcasing the finalists of its recent customer dashboard competition on its website at http://www.microstrategy.com/dashboards.
Earlier this month, MicroStrategy held a dashboard competition in conjunction with its MicroStrategy World user conference in Cannes, France. More than 20 dashboards, all built using MicroStrategy software, were submitted and evaluated on a broad range of criteria, including visual design, ease-of-use, and business value. Some of the companies that were selected as finalists in the dashboard competition include the following:
DHL
DHL provides international express, air and ocean freight, road and rail transportation, contract logistics, and international mail services to its customers. DHL's customer centric dashboard provides executives and senior sales managers with a comprehensive analysis of DHL customers' shipping profiles, sales performance, and historical trends. Users are able to analyze hundreds of data views in a compact space, with access to the information they need for timely business decisions. The dashboard provides significantly faster information delivery compared to standard reporting, improving the user's ability to negotiate and interact with customers more quickly.
Editora Abril
Editora Abril prints approximately 568 million magazines a year and publishes over 370 titles, for over 28 million readers. Editora Abril's dashboard provides a monthly view of subscription operations to managers across Subscription Management, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service Operations. The dashboard helps to increase productivity and reduce operational costs by enabling users to efficiently analyze operating processes such as magazine distribution, customer payments, sales, and promotions. Prior to the dashboard, all information to support decision making was provided with pivot tables and Excel spreadsheet reports. Business analysts spent 80% of their time each month preparing these reports, and were not able to provide key answers to decision makers until approximately 5 days after requests were made. The simplicity and layout of the online dashboard enables users to find information immediately after questions are asked.
Hungarian Post
Hungarian Post provides postal services to individuals and businesses in the Republic of Hungary, reaching 820,000 customer contacts every day. Hungarian Post invests significant resources to address the large number of recipients that cannot be found at their destination address at delivery time. With MicroStrategy-based dashboards, the managers responsible for local or global delivery processes can use the visual dashboard to help them track mail recipient changes and gain insights for appropriate actions.
Generali
The Generali Group is one of the top five players in the global insurance and financial markets. Within the Generali Group, the Generali Employee Benefits (GEB) strategic unit is solely dedicated to providing solutions in the field of Employee Benefits for multinational corporations. Built in less than two weeks, GEB's dashboard provides an immediate business benefit because it helps to identify trends and critical issues, improving profitability. Prior to using MicroStrategy-based dashboards, GEB provided its customers with a PDF and Excel spreadsheet to analyze yearly information. With the new MicroStrategy dashboard, GEB's customers can analyze up to five years of historical data in easy-to-consume graphical displays, and access a comprehensive and consolidated view of account details.
TAP Portugal
TAP Portugal, the leading Portuguese airline and member of the Star Alliance, currently operates over 1,850 weekly flights. TAP Portugal's dashboard provides a daily evaluation of flight operations, performance, costs, and waste control. The MicroStrategy dashboard measures operational performance through key performance indicators linked to budget control and forecast scenarios. Operational procedures are more efficient now because data anomalies are easier to identify.
"We are delighted to see the broad range of dashboards that our customers are building to support their businesses," said Sanju Bansal, MicroStrategy's COO. "MicroStrategy dashboards enable business users to make better and faster decisions by visualizing and interacting with information in an easy-to-use, graphical format. Now, with MicroStrategy Mobile, users can access actionable data from an iPhone or iPad to make business decisions at their convenience."
