Mercer County Hispanic Association (MECHA) Onsite at PSE&G Trenton Customer Service Center to Help Customers Apply for Payment Assistance
NEWARK, N.J., March 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Representatives from the Mercer County Hispanic Association (MECHA) are onsite at PSE&G's Trenton Customer Service Center (CSC) to help eligible customers apply for payment assistance programs. The utility's service center is now located at 28 West State Street (directly across from the old center) and is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
MECHA representatives will be at the center through April 30 during business hours to help customers submit applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and the Universal Service Fund (USF).
"We are pleased to partner with MECHA to help ensure that families struggling in this tough economic climate take advantage of available payment assistance," said Joseph A. Forline, PSE&G's vice president of customer operations. "We know there are many families who still are not aware of the many programs that may be available to them. Having MECHA representatives at our Trenton CSC is one way to make sure they do."
"MECHA welcomes this opportunity because it allows us to provide information, on the spot, to PSE&G's customers about how they can save on their energy bills," said Luisa Robinson, MECHA's executive director. "Our being at the center on a daily basis helps us reach people we may not be able to otherwise. In addition, our partnership with PSE&G allows people to learn more about the other services MECHA offers, not only to Latinos, but to any Mercer County resident in need."
After April 30, MECHA periodically will be at the Trenton CSC to meet with customers about the agency's other programs including its Multi-Services Family Center, youth services, Job Readiness, Search and Placement Center and Housing Resource Center.
