MedSpring Immediate Care Opens Third Chicago Area Center
Walk-in clinic offers convenient and affordable care to Lakeview/Lincoln Park
CHICAGO, March 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MedSpring Immediate Care, a leading provider of immediate health care, opened its third center today in the Chicago area in Lakeview/Lincoln Park. The company made its Chicago debut three months ago with the opening of centers in Arlington Heights and Naperville. MedSpring's newest center is located at 2868 N. Broadway (just north of the N. Clark and W. Diversey intersection). MedSpring will host an open house at their Lakeview center on Thursday, March 14 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. to introduce the new walk-in clinic to the surrounding community.
MedSpring centers are staffed with doctors from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, including most holidays, offering quick and convenient immediate care. With digital x-ray and lab facilities on-site, MedSpring physicians treat a wide range of illnesses and injuries, from cuts, sprains and broken bones to coughs, allergies and infections. Walk-ins are welcome, while scheduled appointments also are available. MedSpring patients enjoy a distinctive and relaxing atmosphere with unique amenities including complimentary snacks and beverages, in-room televisions and activities for children.
"We've received a warm reception at our suburban Chicago locations and are pleased to open our third center in the Lakeview community," said Jon L. Belsher, M.D., MedSpring's Chief Medical Officer. "On post-visit surveys, we average 4.9 out of 5 stars, and our patients indicate that they would be likely to recommend MedSpring based on the quality of our health care as well as their overall patient experience."
For non-life threatening conditions, MedSpring offers a cost-effective and time-saving alternative to the emergency room. A visit to MedSpring typically lasts less than an hour compared to the national average of four hours for an emergency room visit. Additionally, while co-pays vary by insurance provider, patients typically pay $35 to $50 at MedSpring, compared to $100 to $200 or more at the ER. For those without insurance or with a high deductible, the savings can be even more dramatic with a typical MedSpring visit costing under $200 compared to well over $1,000 for a comparable ER visit. For conditions threatening a patient's life, limb or vision, an emergency room is the most appropriate setting for care.
MedSpring currently operates 14 immediate care centers with six centers in Austin, five centers in Houston, and three Chicago area centers.
