Medialets Announces Appointment of Richy Glassberg to Chief Operating Officer
Leading mobile and tablet rich media advertising company turns to digital advertising industry pioneer to build on recent momentum and help drive company's future growth
NEW YORK, Sept. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Medialets, the only advertising platform to deliver frictionless planning, buying, creation, trafficking, and measurement of mobile campaigns, announced today the appointment of Richy Glassberg to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Glassberg will be based out of the company's global headquarters in New York.
In his new role with Medialets, Glassberg will be tasked with overseeing sales and operations, and will be instrumental in the roll out of several new strategic initiatives that the company plans to announce in the coming months.
Glassberg brings with him over two decades of experience across a wide range of digital advertising, sales and operations disciplines. Starting in the cable industry in the mid-1980s at MTVN and then Turner Broadcasting where he launched CNN.com's advertising business in 1995, Glassberg was a pioneer in the early digital age. He was a co-founder of the IAB and served as the Vice Chairman during the formative years, helping to establish the organization as the leader in providing industry standards, research and guidance.
Glassberg served as the Executive Vice President of Ad Sales for Lionsgate/TV Guide, where he directed media ad sales for TV Guide's broadcast, online, mobile, broadband and video-on-demand platforms. He ran News Corp's speed channel ad sales after the acquisition, and in 1999, Glassberg founded and served as the CEO of Phase2Media, one of the first online sales and marketing firms dedicated to exclusive representation of branded sites.
"As one of the pioneers of digital advertising and a veteran of the media space, Richy has a deep and actionable understanding of how to drive success in advertising," said Eric Litman, CEO of Medialets. "His leadership skills, industry experience and fiercely competitive spirit will prove to be invaluable as we introduce new strategic initiatives over the coming months and continue to build out our technology platform and services to support the industry's biggest publishers and advertisers. We're thrilled to welcome him to the Medialets team."
"In just a short time, Medialets has established itself as the preeminent player in the evolving media landscape, addressing mobile's most formidable challenges to deliver market-leading solutions that translate into measurable value for premium brands, advertisers and publishers," said Richy Glassberg, Medialets' Chief Operating Officer. "I couldn't be more excited to work closely with Eric, the Medialets team and our incredible roster of clients in shaping the future of advertising."
This announcement follows the continued momentum Medialets has built in the mobile advertising space. Over the past year alone, the company launched Medialets Private Marketplace, expanded its global reach with the opening of its EMEA headquarters in London and announced it was selected as the ad server for the Tablet Lane in Vivaki's The Pool, a first-of-its-kind research initiative built on collaboration to uncover engagement models of the future across emerging media platforms.
