NEW YORK, Oct. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MediaCom's Chief Marketing Officer, Stephanie Fierman, has been ranked among the top 50 CMOs by social influence.
The list, published by Forbes.com at http://bit.ly/ForbesTop50CMOs, is based on an Infegy analysis of multiple factors, including indexed social interactions, shares, re-shares, mentions, strength of followers and the sentiment of social exchanges.
Fierman is one of 22 women named to the top 50 list, and is the only CMO associated with a major media agency.
"The world of marketing has changed," said Fierman. "MediaCom itself has transformed into the 'Content and Connections Agency,' reflecting our holistic commitment to helping brands not only make the right channel choices, but also create content and messaging that is distributed effectively across their entire communications system. There is no way to do that today without having intimate, personal experience with social media – just as our clients and their customers do."
Karen Quintos, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Dell, a MediaCom client, was also named to the list. "Dell was built on listening to customers, and we are glad to see our partners share in this commitment," said Quintos. "With the explosion of social media, we have an even greater opportunity to connect with customers and personalize their journey with us. It's our responsibility as marketers to integrate social across the business to take customer relationships to a whole new level."
Other notable statistics from the list include the fact that only 10 of the Top 50 are Chief Marketing Officers from technology companies, and only 9 are from Fortune 50 organizations. The list reflects "self-selecting" CMOs, i.e., those who have either a public title of CMO or have an equivalent title.
