PLANO, Texas, Nov. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MDwise, an Indiana-based nonprofit healthcare company and longstanding ZeOmega client, recently went live with ZeOmega®'s end-to-end population health management (PHM) platform, Jiva™ 6.1. MDwise cares for families in Indiana, working with the Indiana State Government and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide the Hoosier Healthwise Plan, the Healthy Indiana Plan, and MDwise Marketplace health insurance programs. MDwise sees additional value in Jiva 6.1, expecting the platform's vast capabilities to help their organization overcome today's challenges, as well as tomorrow's.
"We partnered with ZeOmega to enhance our integration of real-time data, support collaboration, and assist with the creation of patient-centered care plans," says MDwise's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ty Sullivan. "ZeOmega supports our mission to provide high quality healthcare to the vulnerable populations of Indiana. Their platform has already helped us achieve our goals, and we anticipate Jiva 6.1 will do the same with both current and future objectives."
MDwise has long maintained a commitment to deploying innovative technology to coordinate and manage care for its 350,000 members. For this reason, MDwise selected Jiva in 2012 to meet their evolving needs. Two years later in 2014, MDwise reported that Jiva had helped their organization:
- Reduce readmission rates by 66%.
- Decrease lengths of stay by 61%.
- Achieve a potential annual savings of $6.5 million as part of a special initiative.
- Enhance adolescent well-care visits by 50%.
- Improve LDL related to diabetic care for the target individuals from the previous year by 75%.
- Boost the adult preventive care in identified members year-over-year by 50%.
MDwise's success and significant return on investment are the reasons they continue to partner with ZeOmega. Since 2012, MDwise has invested in two Jiva upgrades: first to Jiva 5.6 in 2015, then to Jiva 6.1 in 2017.
A key goal MDwise hopes to accomplish with their latest upgrade to Jiva 6.1 is the improvement of their utilization management (UM). The level of automation they will now be receiving with Jiva 6.1's dashboards will save them time, allow better caseload balancing, and help supervisors heighten the management of their support teams.
MDwise has also added an appeals module with their upgrade. Using Jiva 6.1's streamlined, automated workflow, nurses will have more time to manage cases and have a cleaner pathway for reporting, tracking actions, following state reports, and managing other vital information.
Regarding care management, MDwise is implementing Jiva 6.1's integrated assessments with the goal of simplifying NCQA audits, accreditation, and the application of other quality measures.
"We are thrilled by the successful partnership between MDwise and ZeOmega," says ZeOmega's Founder and Chief Executive Officer Sam Rangaswamy. "We recognize MDwise's industry thought leadership. These upgrades help improve lives: the patient's, the population's, and the end user's. It is an honor to be part of MDwise's progression, aiding the advancement of healthcare through innovative technology."
