SEATTLE, Aug. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MCG, part of the Hearst Health network and a leading provider of evidence-based care guidelines, has hired managed-care industry veteran Donna Baker-Miller as one of its executives overseeing its work with federal and state government health agencies. In her role, Baker-Miller will leverage her considerable experience and knowledge to form new partnerships with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), state Medicaid agencies, and other government health organizations, building care management strategies that promote affordable, high-quality care for all Americans.
Baker-Miller brings to MCG more than 25 years of experience innovating in managed care, most recently as Vice President of Business Development for Houston-based HealthHelp, an industry leader in educational and collaborative care management. Before HealthHelp, she held executive-level positions at Strategic Health Partners, a consultancy firm which she founded, and specialty health services provider APS Healthcare. Her strategic vision and extensive knowledge of government insurance programs make her a strong match for her new role at MCG, where she will explore ways evidence-based care guidelines and the Indicia® suite of interactive solutions can revolutionize care management in public health plans.
"I believe everyone deserves quality healthcare," says Baker-Miller. "MCG has given me the opportunity to help state and federal health agencies achieve that objective with cutting-edge solutions that educate clinicians while optimizing the quality, consistency, and efficiency of care."
MCG has a long history of working with public and private health plans to drive effective care, including CMS contractors, state Medicaid agencies, and eight of the ten largest private payors in the United States. Its team of clinician editors who develop and update the guidelines possess extensive knowledge of CMS policy. By working closely with government agencies to identify and assess new needs and issues as they arise, Baker-Miller will significantly improve that knowledge.
"To meet the needs of government health plans, you need a recognized expert who understands their unique challenges," says Jon Shreve, President of MCG. "We're excited to have someone with Donna's vision and deep experience join our team."
