McCann No. 1 Worldwide in R3's Midyear New Business Ranking
New business ranking complements agency's top creative awards in 2017
NEW YORK, July 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- McCann Worldgroup led all agencies midyear in new business wins, according to the most recently published "2017 Creative Agencies New Business League" compiled by R3 Worldwide, an independent global marketing consultancy. The newest report, published at the midyear point and including year-to-date analyses through May, shows McCann in the No. 1 position both globally and in the U.S.
McCann's leading competitive position in new business complements its creative awards achievements in 2017, which most recently included winning the most top Grand Prix (six) in late June at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. In addition to emerging as the most awarded Cannes agency in North America, McCann was also named Cannes Lions Healthcare Network of the Year for the second year in a row. This follows other No. 1 awards positions at multiple shows throughout 2017, including the North American Effies, The One Show, the ADC Awards, and the International ANDY Awards.

The monthly R3 new business rankings, which have shown McCann to be leading throughout 2017, are based on year-to-date revenue estimates, including both total gross wins and net revenue excluding losses within the same time frame. Recent new business assignments listed by R3 include Chevron at Momentum, additional MGM Resorts assignments in the U.S., and moneycorp at McCann London. Earlier wins noted by R3 this year have included RB's global Nurofen, Chevrolet's social media, additional Verizon and Coca-Cola assignments in the U.S., and Diageo brands in McCann South Africa, among others.
Creatively, in addition to the Cannes Lions distinctions, McCann New York was named Agency of the Year at The One Show and was also honored at the recent 2017 Effie Awards as the most effective agency office in North America with McCann Worldgroup being named the No. 2 most effective regional network. McCann was honored across the board with Digital Agency of the Year, Agency of the Year, and Network of the Year distinctions at the ADC 96th Annual Awards. The agency also won both Network of the Year and Agency of the Year at the International ANDY Awards, in addition to taking the Best in Show GRANDY award
