MAXIS® Nikkei 225 Index Fund (NKY:NYSE Arca) named to Schwab ETF Select List™ for the second quarter of 2013
BEDMINSTER, N.J., May 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Precidian Funds LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Precidian Investments LLC, is pleased to announce that that the MAXIS® Nikkei 225 Index Fund (NKY:NYSE Arca) has been selected to fill the Japan stock category on the Schwab ETF Select List for the second quarter of 2013.
The MAXIS® Nikkei 225 Index Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of publicly traded securities in the Japanese market, as measured by the Nikkei 225 Index.
"We are excited that Charles Schwab chose to add the MAXIS® Nikkei 225 Index Fund to their ETF Select List," stated Dan McCabe, Chief Executive Officer of Precidian Funds. "Given that Japan is the third-largest economy as measured by GDP, many U.S. investors are looking for ways to gain exposure to Japan so helping them find a cost-effective way to get access to Japan via such a well-recognized global equity benchmark makes sense," continued Mr. McCabe.
The MAXIS® Nikkei 225 Index ETF, the only U.S.-listed ETF to provide access to the Nikkei 225, began trading July 13, 2011, on NYSE Arca and has an annual expense ratio of 50 basis points. Precidian Funds LLC serves as Adviser, Northern Trust as Sub-adviser, JP Morgan Chase as Administrator and Custodian, and Foreside Fund Service LLC as Distributor.

The Schwab ETF Select List is a list of a list of prescreened, low-cost ETFs representing one ETF from each of more than 60 asset categories. The ETF Select List, which was developed by the experts at Charles Schwab Investment Advisory, Inc. (CSIA), and is updated quarterly, was designed to make it easier for Schwab investors to find the right ETFs to fit their investment needs and goals. To be eligible for the ETF Select List, an ETF must meet certain minimum requirements to ensure a basic standard of liquidity, viability and structural stability among eligible ETFs. Eligibility criteria includes: assets under management, bid-ask spread, length of track record, tracking error and trading volume. From among these eligible funds, one is selected for each ETF Select List category on the basis of its low cost of ownership, assuming a $5,000 purchase into the ETF is made online on schwab.com, held for one year, and then sold. The $5,000 investment size is representative of historical Schwab independent retail client trading activity. The one-year holding period is an estimate based on industry averages and Schwab's general view regarding the benefits of annual portfolio rebalancing. To build the Schwab ETF Select List, CSIA analyzes all eligible ETFs, including both Schwab ETFs™ and ETFs from third-party providers. Schwab accepts no payments for inclusion of any ETF on this List, and all ETFs are evaluated using the same criteria.
The ETF Select List is provided for informational purposes and should not be considered as an individualized recommendation. Schwab produces the list quarterly to help investors navigate the vast number of ETFs available and identify those that might be appropriate for their portfolios. More information on the Schwab ETF Select List as well as the full list of funds, can be found on the ETF page of the Charles Schwab website under ETF Select List (http://www.schwab.com/public/schwab/investing/investment_help/investment_research/etf_research/etfs.html?&&path=/Prospect/Research/etfs/overview/selectList.asp?symbol=undefined).
