MassMutual Retirement Services to Host RetireSmart(SM) Participant Seminar with Gen Y Money Coach Farnoosh Torabi
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- MassMutual's Retirement Services Division continues its web-based RetireSmart(SM) national participant seminar series with "Can't Afford NOT to Save," featuring Farnoosh Torabi*, Generation Y money coach, best-selling author, personal finance journalist and TV personality.
MassMutual's "live" online seminar with Torabi is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 12:00 p.m. ET. The educational series is for participants and plan sponsors, and will focus on how to establish and achieve personal retirement goals, how to put money to work and how to boost earning potential.
According to a recent analysis by Financial Engines(1), an independent investment adviser, 53% of plan participants under age 30 have failed to save enough to receive the full employer match. The RetireSmart(SM) seminar series is designed to help every participant on MassMutual's platform achieve a better understanding of their retirement goals and deliver specific action steps to help them plan and save accordingly.
"At MassMutual, we realize planning for retirement can be challenging for many participants, especially those just starting the journey toward retirement," says E. Heather Smiley, chief marketing officer, MassMutual's Retirement Services Division. "We are committed to making retirement planning as easy as possible by providing our participants with the tools and resources they need to plan for a successful retirement," adds Smiley.
"I'm pleased to be a part of MassMutual's webinar series to help bring awareness to the importance of saving early in the retirement journey. I hope to help the attending participants realize that, even in the beginning, there's room to save for retirement," says Torabi. "In addition, I'm happy to have the opportunity to work with a provider like MassMutual who truly cares about its participants and making sure they have all the knowledge they need to plan for the future," she adds.
MassMutual's RetireSmart(SM) seminars are comprised of a 30-minute presentation followed by a 30-minute questions and answers session. The previous seminar, "Understanding How Social Security and Medicare Impact Your Retirement," was presented by special guest Daniel Moraski, public affairs specialist from the Social Security Administration. How Social Security benefits are calculated, Social Security benefit projections and an overview of Medicare eligibility were main topics covered.
Space is limited to retirement plan sponsors and participants on MassMutual's platform. MassMutual retirement plan clients can register by logging in to their retirement plan account at MassMutual.com/retiresmart and clicking on the "Can't Afford NOT To Save" event banner on the home page.
