MassMutual Announces Upcoming RetireSmart(SM) Seminar: Understanding Target-Date and Target-Risk Investments
Presentation Addresses Participants' Key Topic of Interest
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., March 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MassMutual's Retirement Services Division continues its web-based RetireSmart(SM) interactive participant education series with "Understanding Target-Date and Target-Risk Investments," directly addressing a key topic of interest for participants based on 2011's post-event surveys.
MassMutual's live online seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, April 11 at 12:00 p.m. ET. The 30-minute presentation, led by three members from MassMutual's investment team, including Michael Eldredge, CFA, vice president; Bruce Picard, Jr., CFA, investment director; and Fredrick (Rick) Schulitz, CFA, investment director, will cover:
- Taking charge of your retirement investing strategy in today's market environment,
- The ABCs of target-date and target-risk strategies, and
- How these investments may fit in to your overall plan.
A 30-minute interactive question and answer session will directly follow the presentation.
"While some participants prefer to manage the mix of investments in their retirement accounts personally, MassMutual is seeing more and more interest in, and adoption of, target-date (lifecycle) and target-risk (lifestyle) funds," says E. Heather Smiley, chief marketing officer for MassMutual's Retirement Services Division. "The funds in these series offer a range of investment types within each single investment option and can be the right choice for many participants. MassMutual is excited to help retirement investors understand these options," adds Smiley.
MassMutual Retirement Services kicked off 2012 with its first seminar, "Raising Financially Savvy Kids," on February 29. Farnoosh Torabi, independent Generation Y money coach, best-selling author and personal finance journalist, discussed the importance of talking to kids about money matters. Specifically, Torabi addressed topics such as leading by example and teaching children how to save and plan for the future, and concluded with a discussion of how to implement an allowance system that really works. A free replay of this seminar is available for anyone who missed the live event.
Space for the upcoming "Understanding Target-Date and Target-Risk Investments" seminar is prioritized to retirement plan sponsors and participants on MassMutual's platform. MassMutual retirement plan clients can register by logging in to their retirement plan account at www.retiresmart.com or by visiting www.retiresmartseminars.com.
