BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Oct. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As the founder and CEO of A List Entertainment, Inc. (http://alistentertainment.com/), Marsha R. Levine has been a leader and trendsetter in product placement for over 25 years. Most recently, she worked on the Sony Pictures release to secure a major airline placement for the upcoming feature film "Inferno." Swiss International Air Lines Ltd. not only appears in the film, but is also part of an exciting, innovative, multi-channel marketing campaign.
"Inferno" follows the unflappable Robert Langdon, played by three-time best actor winner Tom Hanks, as he rushes to stop a madman from releasing a deadly virus. It's the third Dan Brown novel to receive big screen treatment, the first being "The Da Vinci Code," followed by "Angels and Demons. "Inferno" premieres in the U.S. on October 28.
Sony Pictures and A List Entertainment have collaborated for more than 20 years. And when "Inferno" needed an airline, the production company team from Imagine called on Levine. She then secured a deal with Swiss Air Lines and Columbia Pictures in a matter of days.
Levine's involvement with product placement doesn't end with bringing two parties together and negotiating terms. In the case of "Inferno," she worked closely with Swiss Air Lines and Production to ensure all scenes represented the brand values and producers' vision, and that the aircraft, signage and costumes were on location in time ensuring the filming keep to its schedule. Swiss Air Lines thoroughly satisfied with the result sent A List Entertainment a personal letter thanking Levine for her expertise and dedication, expressing their gratitude for making an effort to include the brand and SWISS values so smoothly in the movie as part of the story.
Beyond managing the brand's on-screen appearances, Levine also oversaw the airline's participation in the social media campaign initiated by Sony Studios for the film, which leveraged the audiences of worldwide social media influencers. The scavenger hunt tie-in on both the movie's and the airline's Facebook pages encouraged fans to channel their inner Robert Langdon while hunting down tantalizing clues.
The integration of Swiss Air Lines into "Inferno" comes on the heels of Levine's tremendously successful placement of Turkish Airlines in Zak Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." That tie-in was one of the largest and most ambitious in film history. In addition to placement within the film, an innovative and multi-channel campaign was deployed that significantly drove up awareness of the airline.
Levine's contributions to major Hollywood films have been seen by billions of people. Her most recognized work includes Dassault Falcon Jet in "The Pelican Brief" and "The Sum of All Fears"; Duracell batteries in "The Matrix": 7UP in "Friends"; and Dr Pepper in the "Spiderman" films. Levine's broad knowledge of film production, combined with her comprehensive understanding of a director's vision and brand, has made her the most sought-after talent in product placement today.
