Markel Announces Pricing of Debt Offering
RICHMOND, Va., May 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Markel Corporation (NYSE: MKL) (the "Company") announced today that it has priced a public offering of $250 million aggregate principal amount of 5.35% senior notes due 2021. The net proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including acquisitions. In addition, proceeds may be used to repurchase other of the Company's outstanding debt securities. Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and Wells Fargo Securities, LLC are the Joint Book-Running Managers for the offering, which is expected to close on or about June 1, 2011.
