Marijuana, Inc.'s Division MarijuanaInc.TV Captures the Spirit of the Medical Marijuana Movement on 4/20/2012
LAS VEGAS, April 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MARIJUANA, INC. (OTC: HEMP AND/OR HEMP.PK) is pleased to announce that their media division, www.MarijuanaInc.TV set up operations in the San Francisco Bay area over the 4/20 weekend, filming The Deep Green Festival in Richmond, California, and a rally and march in embattled Oakland where they captured the spirit of the movement in the region that started the fight for medical marijuana legalization.
Deep Green, created by Harborside director Steve DeAngelo and Earthdance/Green Institute founder Michael Gosney, united Earth Day, which inspires awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment with April 20, the counterculture and green industries holiday historically focused on the benefits of cannabis consumption and industrial hemp's many uses. Deep Green strives to enlighten the world about the efficaciousness of marijuana, and to produce a day that inspires awareness and appreciation of ecological and holistic human health.
www.MarijuanaInc.TV 's segment producer and on camera person Stephanie Bishop was instrumental in gaining access to key people and events. Ms. Bishop and the crew filmed the rally and subsequent march from the downtown Oakland Federal Building to the Obama campaign headquarters, where Dale Sky Jones, the executive chancellor and new head of Oaksterdam University, delivered a letter demanding immediate action regarding patients' rights to access medical cannabis. Jones elaborated on the events on camera with www.MarijuanaInc.TV.
The MarijuanaInc.TV crew also captured a speech by Oaksterdam founder Richard Lee, whose school was raided earlier this month in one of the highest-profile moves in the Obama administration's nationwide assault on medical marijuana. A moving Interview by Ms. Bishop of Yvonne Westbrook White, who has MS and was affected by the recent Oaksterdam raid illustrates the patient's frustration -- the cannabis plants that were to be the students' final project only were intended for her medical use.
Ms. Bishop spoke on camera with Steven DeAngelo, star of the recent television show "Weed Wars". As CEO of Harborside Health Center, DeAngelo co-founded and directed California's most widely acclaimed medical cannabis dispensary -- and set a new standard of excellence for the entire industry. Steve's other accomplishments in medical cannabis include launching the industry's first lab testing service, and producing the Deep Green Festival.
Among the many other industry insiders that MarijuanaInc.TV interviewed were long time Bay Area medical marijuana supporters including Dale Geiringer, Andrew Schnedl, Larry Richards of Coffee Shop Blue Sky, Mikki Norris and Chris Conrad from West Coast Leaf, Amy Fisher, Lisa Marie, and author Ed Rosenthal, noted for his books on growing whose titles include "Big Book of Buds" and "Marijuana Grower's Handbook" as well as his "Ask Ed" column in "High Times Magazine" and up and coming writer Dru West, author of "Secrets of The West Coast Masters".
