Marco's Pizza Offers Sweet Treat For Being Scary Safe
Kids Pledging to Safe Trick-or-Treating Rewarded with Free CinnaSquares
CLEVELAND, Oct. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- There will be an estimated 41 million kids trick-or-treating this Halloween in the United States. And while there will be plenty of scary costumes, what's most frightening is the statistic around vehicle accidents. According to the nonprofit organization Safe Kids USA, children are more than twice as likely to be killed by a car while walking on Halloween night than at any other time of the year. Marco's Pizza wants to encourage parents and kids to talk about Halloween safety before venturing out for candy through its Fun & Safe Trick-or-Treating Pledge. Those who do, will receive a FREE CinnaSquare with their next order at participating locations across the country.
Marco's Pizza stores are distributing more than a half million pledge forms to daycare centers, schools and church groups. Parents interested in having their kids take the pledge can download it from Marco's Facebook page. The pledge must be taken by October 31. However, the Free CinnaSquare offer is good from November 1 through December 31, 2016.
"Kids and drivers need to be extra cautious on Halloween," said Cathy Hull, chief marketing officer at Marco's Pizza. "As a brand that takes thousands of pizza orders for Halloween parties, we wanted to find a way to help make the night fun and safe for families. We thought offering our CinnaSquares would be the perfect incentive."
Marco's was founded by native Italian, Pasquale "Pat" Giammarco in 1978. Today, it's America's fastest-growing pizza company. The company has grown from its roots as a beloved Ohio brand to operate more than 750 stores in 35 states and three countries.
