March Messiness? Gladiator GarageWorks, Michigan State Coach Tom Izzo Launch Head-to-Head Competition to Find America's Messiest Garages
BENTON HARBOR, Mich., March 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- For homeowners with messy garages, this bracket competition might be right up their alley. Gladiator GarageWorks, the leader in garage and household organization and storage systems, announced its "Gladiator Garage vs. Garage" contest today. The contest pits consumers' messiest garages against each other in a faceoff to win $5,000 worth of organizational products, just in time for National Garage Organization Month in April.
Michigan State men's head basketball coach Tom Izzo recently underwent his own garage transformation and urges consumers to rethink how they battle garage clutter.
"As winter ends and spring begins, March adds a little bit of madness to many homes," said Izzo. "The team at Gladiator helped me with a game plan to find the right solutions that showcase my pride for my home with a new garage organization system."
Others who have a messy garage can start down the same path as Coach Izzo by submitting a photo and caption to Gladiator.
Submissions of photos and descriptions of messy garages are being accepted through March 28th on Gladiator's Facebook page. Sixteen semi-finalists with the messiest garage photos will be chosen to face off against one another in a bracket format until only two "Gladiators" remain. Facebook fans will vote on pairs of garages, moving the messiest garages onto subsequent match-ups on the Facebook page. The final two garages will be posted on the page on April 14th for the final round of voting.
Prizes for the participants include:
- 16 semi-finalists will receive a Gladiator GearTrak starter kit ($55 retail value)
- One runner-up will receive a $1,000 Gladiator garage upgrade
- One grand prize winner will receive a $5,000 Gladiator garage upgrade, along with a Gladiator Brand product autographed by Coach Izzo
"The garage is an extension of the home, and we want to connect directly with consumers to learn about their problem garages and provide them with long-lasting storage solutions," said Rebecca Ross, Brand Manager at Gladiator GarageWorks. "Many people are fighting the battle with disorganization in the garage. By sending a photo and description, that garage could result in prizes."
In fact, a recent Gladiator study found that about 70 percent of two-car garages could only fit one car because of the garage clutter. And three out of four Americans use their garage as their home's "front door."
