LYON, France, May 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Mapi Research Trust, the leading curator and license distributor of Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs) and Mapi Language Services, the most trusted provider of linguistic validation, have been selected by Dr Rebecca Logsdon, the author of the "Quality of Life – Alzheimer's Disease" measure (QOL-AD) to be the exclusive licensor, distributor and translator of the QOL-AD and all its derivatives for the scientific community.
The QOL-AD is a brief, 13-item measure, originally described in a research study published by Drs Logsdon, Gibbons, McCurry and Teri in 1999, and designed specifically to obtain a rating of the patient's Quality of Life from both the patient and the caregiver. It includes assessments of the individual's relationships with friends and family, concerns about finances, physical condition, mood, and an overall assessment of quality of life. "Collaborating with Mapi has led to the production of over 55 high-quality and harmonized translations of the QOL-AD and their large dissemination within the scientific community through an easy and controlled access," said Rebecca Logsdon.
"Our mission is to provide vital assistance to authors in the daily management of their questionnaires, relieving them from the administrative burden of the distribution, licensing and handling of requests from users," said Katrin Conway, Managing Director of the Mapi Research Trust. "The distribution of the QOL-AD by Mapi will facilitate the access to the original questionnaire and all its derivatives such as translations and electronic versions while respecting the integrity and copyright of Dr Logsdon's questionnaire," she added.
"We are honored to serve the QOL-AD and Dr Logsdon by ensuring consistency across translations and between paper and electronic versions of the questionnaire. This measure, largely used both in clinical research and practice, deserves the highest linguistic validation and electronic migration standards established by Mapi for years, for the benefit of the whole scientific community," commented Ana Bayles, Global Director – Mapi Language Services.
