Maniac Filmworks & Music Founder joins Octagon to Continue Groundbreaking Work in Aligning Talent with Brands
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Global sports and entertainment leader Octagon has announced today the addition of Maniac Filmworks & Music Founder Scotty Abrams. With a wide array of experience in music, technology, marketing and branded entertainment, Abrams' clients and credits include a lengthy and impressive list of top musicians and brands. Abrams will work closely with Octagon Entertainment Managing Director John Ferriter in connecting Octagon Entertainment clients, productions and projects with brands.
Abrams most recently founded Maniac Filmworks & Music, which provides brand and principal integration into a variety of entertainment content opportunities. Maniac was developed in response to the challenges faced by marketers who find it increasingly difficult to cut through the communications clutter to reach and impact key target audiences to build relationships and favorably impact behavior. Working with entertainment content providers in television, film, music, video games and online, Abrams and Maniac developed opportunities involving Motorola, Verizon Wireless, Ford, Mazda, Allied Domecq Spirits, Chrysler, Starbucks, Verizon Wireless, Ray-Ban and Swarovski.
Previously, Abrams served as Senior Vice President in William Morris's music department, where his core focus was signing clients whom he then brought to Maniac. Those clients include Kanye West, Prince, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, Nicky Minaj, Deep Dish and Mike Rowe. Abrams also worked with top artists including Avicii, Drake, Dubfire, Eminem, Rascal Flatts, Nelly, Paul Oakenfold, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Pussy Cat Dolls and Velvet Revolver.
"Scotty has a rare skill set as an executive. He brings the best of talent and brand relationships to Octagon and excels in both areas," said Ferriter. "We look forward to utilizing his great experience to continue accelerating the growth of Octagon Entertainment."
Abrams' experience also includes spearheading marketing at Vivendi-Universal Net Music & Media after co-founding and selling Hyperimpact, a technology and media firm that co-hosted the 2000 Democratic National Convention. There he worked with clients including Microsoft, Procter & Gamble, Royal Phillips, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Mercedes-Benz, the city of Chicago and the Obama Administration's office of Public Engagement (formerly Public Liaison) among others.
"Under John's leadership, Octagon Entertainment is at the forefront of exceptional talent management and marketing," said Abrams. "I look forward to working with the exciting group John has built at Octagon Entertainment and with everyone throughout the Octagon network."
