Major Department and Specialty Stores Throughout the US are Investing in their Top Producing Personal Shoppers and Personal Stylists by Sending them to the Sterling Style Academy for Training
NEW YORK, April 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- While department stores are sending their top producers to the Sterling Style Academy 3-Day Short Course in New York, L.A. or Miami, they are also recruiting our graduates who matriculate into our 5-Day Personal Stylist and Personal Shopper courses. In the past, graduates from our 2.5 Week and 4 Week Image Consultant, Personal Stylist and Personal Shopper Training Certification programs in New York have secured positions in personal shopping departments such as Saks Fifth Avenue in Miami and Harvey Nichols in London. Specialty stores such as J Crew, Top Shop and Intermix have also branded sales associates as personal stylists to further entice the public. However our graduates report that clients have had mixed reviews.
Julie, an executive in New York states, "Working with a trained, freelance personal shopper is so much better than working with an in-store personal shopper because they understand my personal style, what colors look best on me, and what to place on my body type. When working with an in-store personal shopper, I just felt she dressed me according to her taste, what she thought looked good, and what she thought was on trend. I honestly didn't see the difference between working with her and a sales associate except for the fact she would hustle more to make the sale. What a disappointment!"
In an effort to increase client satisfaction and sales in Q4, stores have been enrolling personal shopping department managers into our summer programs to maximize their department sales and better educate their staff with our Learning Tools and Resources on Wardrobe Consulting and Personal Shopping.
"When your Personal Shoppers love what they do rather than feel pressured to sell, then store sales multiply. Why do you think the new Zara concept stores do so well? Not only do they have quality, reasonably priced, trendy clothes, they have well merchandised their product into groups of collections that sell – omitting the need for personal shoppers because every fashionista shops at Zara!," states Sterling Style Academy founder, Michelle T. Sterling. "We have girls who enter our program everyday concerned about finding employment. Hiring our graduates is a win-win for department and specialty stores throughout the US."
