The WAL-LED10W-4S-IR portable infrared light tower from Magnalight.com is the size of a "carry on" suit case and incorporates 4 infrared LED light heads mounted atop a collapsible tower that can be raised from 3 to 8 feet in height to produce wide coverage of larger areas. This portable infrared light tower produces the infrared equivalent of 720 lumens yet uses very little power due to its highly efficient LED light heads; allowing it to operate at full power for 27 hours on a single charge of its integral AGM sealed lead acid battery. The infrared LED light heads are mounted to the tower with adjustable tension hinges, allowing the user to position them as needed without having to lock them into place. To position the light heads the operator needs to move the heads into place and they will hold their position until moved again. Each light assembly can be operated separately, allowing users to independently power one or both sets to provide either 55 hours of operation with only one set, or 27 hours of full power operation with both. The infrared output of this unit can only be viewed with night vision equipment, making it an ideal solution for military, security and law enforcement operations where wide coverage yet covert operation is desired. The 33 amp hour AGM sealed lead acid battery provides 500+ charging cycles and a normal life cycle of 3-5 years. Versatile power options include recharging via common 115VAC power outlets and 12VDC recharging through a 12 volt adapter and integral cigarette plug socket. This unit can be operated while recharging from an 115VAC power source, along with a special plug that allows operation as a jump and carry external battery pack. This infrared LED light tower is designed to be easily deployed and can be set up in less than 30 seconds and will withstand 65 mph winds once fully deployed. Weighing only 48lbs and measuring 22 inches tall by 9 inches in length by 14 inches wide, this portable light tower is a rugged and easily transported and deployed infrared lighting solution that can fill a wide variety of specialized applications within the military, law enforcement, and professional security sectors.
"This light tower is unique in that we used LED infrared lights to light a large work or surveillance area; visible only by operators wearing night vision equipment for the 850nm or 940nm wavelength," said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com. "In addition, these portable LED lights are designed to operate off the internal battery for up to 9 hours or directly off a standard 120V wall outlet. Operators can conserve their battery charge when they have access to generator power or other external power. These units were built to be extremely light weight and easily maneuvered in the field."
