Lumin Medical Purchases PatientTrak
Technology improves patient flow and increases efficiencies for healthcare providers
FRANKLIN, Wis., July 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lumin Medical LLC, a healthcare IT provider, announced it has purchased the assets of PatientTrak, the leading provider of on-demand patient tracking solutions and is moving its national headquarters from Illinois to Franklin, Wis.
"Our name is Lumin which means light and our mission is to provide visibility for the healthcare industry to improve patient satisfaction, increase efficiencies and reduce costs," said James Hermann, President of Lumin Medical. "PatientTrak is a growing company that melds perfectly with that focus."
PatientTrak's cloud-based software solutions improve patients experience and enable healthcare providers to reduce wait times and costs.
"PatientTrak has increased our staff productivity and reduced our costs and wait times. It provides us with valuable information about our operations that we never had access to before," says Michele Skinner, Sr. Director for IL Hospitals and Ambulatory Operations for ACL Laboratories - Advocate Healthcare in Rosemont, IL.
The web-based PatientTrak system is scalable and is being used in healthcare settings ranging from individual medical practices all the way up to the country's largest health systems. It is available for a low monthly subscription and does not require the purchase of any software or hardware.
PatientTrak's three primary components are available separately or can be grouped together:
- Patient Tracking Solution – This feature allows providers to manage the patient flow process, tracking patients from check-in through various stages of treatment. Facilities are able to determine average wait times, treatment times, peak times, time between activities, and more.
- Patient Sign-in Kiosks – Patients are able to check-in for a healthcare appointment or service by entering their name and date of birth on a touch screen monitor located at a kiosk in the provider's office, laboratory, outpatient clinic, walk-in clinic, or urgent care center. This private, online sign-in method ensures HIPAA compliance by eliminating the need for paper sign-in sheets. Healthcare providers are also able to easily monitor the number of patients waiting for appointments, patient wait times, and the length of time that staff members are spending with each patient.
- Text Messaging and Pager Solution – Healthcare providers can send text message notifications directly to any cell phone or provided pager, from the healthcare provider's existing desktop computer. The patient may be alerted when the healthcare provider is ready to see him/her; family members may receive alerts when the patient comes out of surgery. Staff members may be instantly notified of important patient details or when their services are needed.
All PatientTrak components offer reporting capabilities that enable healthcare facilities to identify patterns and make modifications along the way to increase efficiencies, reduce operating costs and improve patient satisfaction levels.
"The great thing about PatientTrak is that it is scalable. It can be geared to exactly what the healthcare provider needs – and it can be used in a variety of ways. We encourage healthcare facilities to contact us for a personalized consultation to see how it could work best for their organization," stated Hermann.
Free trials and online demos of the PatientTrak technology are available. For additional information go to www.patienttrak.net, email [email protected] or call 414-761-9800.
