LPL Financial Names Sallie Larsen Managing Director and Chief Human Capital Officer
SAN DIEGO, May 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- LPL Financial LLC, the nation's largest independent broker-dealer* and a wholly owned subsidiary of LPL Investment Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: LPLA), today announced that Sallie Larsen was appointed managing director and chief human capital officer as of May 1, 2012. Ms. Larsen is based in San Diego and reports to Mark Casady, LPL Financial chairman and CEO.
In her new role, Ms. Larsen will be responsible for guiding the company's overall human capital and talent acquisition strategies, as well as for designing and implementing competency-driven management development initiatives to support LPL Financial's continued innovation and growth as a leading provider of services to independent financial advisors and institutions. In addition to her key responsibilities in the area of human capital, Ms. Larsen will have oversight of issues relating to real estate, facilities, and corporate communication as a member of the firm's executive management committee.

Sallie Larsen brings more than three decades of human resources and talent management experience to her new role. Prior to joining LPL Financial, Ms. Larsen served as chief human resources officer for the Federal Home Loan Bank – Office of Finance (FHLB-OF) since 2009, where she was responsible for modernizing the organization's human resources infrastructure and implementing a new human capital strategy to respond to changing priorities in the wake of the global financial crisis of 2008. While embracing additional oversight responsibilities in areas such as corporate governance, ethics and diversity, Ms. Larsen helped to establish a culture focused on operational excellence and strong people practices.

Prior to her work at FHLB-OF, Ms. Larsen served in a number of senior human resources roles at Capital One Financial Corporation and Marriott International, Inc. She began her professional career as a human resources and talent management professional at technology and business services firm TRW, Inc.
Ms. Larsen earned a Master of Arts in communications from Purdue University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (summa cum laude) from California Lutheran University. She has also earned an executive leadership coaching certification from Georgetown University.
