Lozano Smith Expands Statewide Municipal Law Practice
LOS ANGELES, April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lozano Smith, a premier California public agency law firm, is pleased to announce the addition of four new attorneys to the firm's Municipal Law and Local Government Practice: William P. Curley III, William Simmons, Autumn Springfield and George Vasquez. These major additions are part of Lozano Smith's latest move to further enhance and expand the firm's expertise to cities and special districts throughout the state, particularly in Southern California and the Bay Area.
William ("Bill") P. Curley III joined Lozano Smith's Los Angeles and San Diego offices as Senior Counsel practicing in local government and brings more than 25 years of experience representing public agencies, including serving as city attorney, general counsel and special counsel for many cities and public entities. Mr. Curley specializes in advice to City Councils and City staff members; advisory administrative advice; land use; code enforcement; the negotiation and drafting of development agreements; and the California Environmental Quality Act documents.
William ("Bill") Simmons joined Lozano Smith's Walnut Creek office as Of Counsel, with his focus on litigation and public agency matters. For more than 17 years, Mr. Simmons has worked in the attorney's office of various cities and counties in the Bay Area, and specializes in major civil rights, construction, real property and employment litigation. He has also developed and overseen risk management programs with both police and public works departments.
Autumn Springfield joined Lozano Smith's Fresno office as an Associate practicing in the City Attorney group. Ms. Springfield's expertise includes responding to Public Records Act requests, particularly those of a complex nature. She works closely with police and fire departments on policies, procedures, records management, property disposal, and requests for personnel records. Ms. Springfield's expertise also includes drafting public works contracts, professional services agreements and subdivision agreements, while also advising clients on nuisance and substandard abatement actions.
George Vasquez joined Lozano Smith's Fresno office as an Associate practicing in the City Attorney group. Mr. Vasquez focuses on local government issues, litigation, and labor and employment law. He is experienced in code enforcement, including reviewing and prosecuting citations; drafting ordinances and personnel policies; and researching and preparing memoranda related to conflicts of interest for public officials, homeless encampment cleanups, privacy rights, and first amendment issues.
