Inspired by AMERICAN SNIPER, BUG-A-SALT launches Indiegogo campaign for BUG-A-SALT 2.0 to raise money for US Veterans, donating $5 for each limited edition "Camofly" gun sold.
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Feb. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Inventor, artist, and CEO Lorenzo Maggiore announces the launch of the new, more powerful, and deadlier than ever BUG-A-SALT 2.0. Inspired by his father, a veteran of the US Marine Corp, and the breakout hit film AMERICAN SNIPER - Mr. Maggiore is launching an Indiegogo campaign, and dedicating his limited "Camofly" edition to the men and women who have served our country. BUG-A-SALT has pledged to donate five dollars from each BUG-A-SALT sold to a military veterans fund, with the goal of raising over $50,000 for veterans. The BUG-A-SALT 2.0 is available to customers through the company's Indiegogo campaign, which launched on February 5th.

Insect hunting as sport entered the 21st century when the BUG-A-SALT gun was launched on Indiegogo, in 2012, raising over $577,000. The BUG-A-SALT is like a miniaturized shotgun, which uses ordinary table salt as a lethal, non-toxic projectile. The BUG-A-SALT has an accuracy range of within three feet, leaves bugs whole for easy cleanup, and is a surefire fun way to enjoy a disgusting task.
CEO Maggiore states his "product has been perfected with more power, using less salt - and clearly surpasses the original engineering and design". Giving back to the community is an important value for Skell Inc. and Lorenzo explains, "BUG-A-SALT has had a great success story and I'd like to return some of my good fortune to help veterans. My father served this country as a Marine, and I feel a large part of my good fortune is due to his principals and morals, and I'd like to honor his memory."
The 2012 launch of the BUG A SALT on Indiegogo led to a Wall Street Journal front-page story featuring Lorenzo and the BUG-A-SALT gun. Ultimately, all of the press BUG-A-SALT received from Indiegogo, led to millions of video views online, and tremendous sales growth over the past two years, and we feel this will translate well into a charitable cause.
Indiegogo has produced a short documentary on BUG-A-SALT and as part of their Indiegogo Docs series it is premiering with the campaign. LINK: http://youtu.be/9m2Q8NwBF94
