L'Oreal USA Wants To See America Get Connected To STEM
ForGirlsInScience.org Launches New STEM Sweepstakes with Scholarship Prizing
NEW YORK, July 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Have a passion for science, technology, engineering or math (STEM?) Then L'Oreal USA wants to see your STEM spirit! L'Oreal USA For Girls In Science, an initiative dedicated to inspiring and empowering girls to pursue their career goals in STEM, has launched a "Connected Through STEM" sweepstakes on helix.forgirlsinscience.org. The new sweepstakes invites people of all ages across the country to let their imagination bubble by creatively setting their friends, family, pets or themselves in a photo with the L'Oreal double helix showing their connection and commitment to STEM. Winners will receive a range of prizes, including a scholarship, gift cards and L'Oreal USA beauty products.
Wherever you can spot a moment inspired by or connected to science, technology, engineering or math – from the sand patterns on a beach to the loops in a rollercoaster at the amusement park – snap a photo and upload the helix to show how you're connected to STEM. A map of America, dubbed the Helix Heat Map, will capture the number of entries in each state and will highlight participation from coast to coast allowing others to view those who have "Connected Through STEM" in our Helix photo gallery. Participants can upload their photo on Facebook or use the hashtag #lorealhelix on Twitter or Instagram. Enter every day for more chances to win!
The contest parameters are as follows: The entry period for submissions will be from July 1, 2013 through September 23, 2013. Winners will be selected at random. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship, a 16GB new laptop and $250 (retail value) worth of L'Oreal USA beauty products. Ten Visa gift cards, each worth $75, will be awarded weekly.
Official rules and a submission form can be found at: helix.forgirlsinscience.org
By engaging the next generation of girls in STEM, L'Oreal USA continues its advocacy and support for women in the sciences at all levels. L'Oreal USA's efforts are designed to help women of all ages imagine and learn more about a future in STEM careers.
