lokai Launches Limited-Edition wild lokai To Support World Wildlife Fund
lokai Pledges a Minimum Donation of $250,000 by Engaging the #livelokai Community with the Limited-Edition Launch of wild lokai
NEW YORK, June 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, lokai, a global lifestyle brand for seekers of balance, announces the launch of wild lokai to benefit World Wildlife Fund (WWF). In March, lokai launched blue lokai, a limited-edition bracelet that benefited charity: water, which rallied the lokai community and brought clean drinking water to over 10,000 people in Ethiopia. Now, lokai is donating one dollar to WWF for every wild lokai sold between June 15th and July 28th, with a minimum commitment of $250,000, once again bringing together the #livelokai community to make a difference.
lokai's marquee product is a unisex bracelet infused with elements from the highest and lowest points on Earth. The band's white bead carries water from Mt. Everest and its black bead contains mud from The Dead Sea. These extreme elements are a reminder to the wearer to live a balanced life – staying humble during life's peaks and hopeful during its lows. wild lokai is the latest in a series of limited-edition bracelets, created through non-profit partnerships and designed to engage the lokai community to make a difference.
"With the launch of wild lokai and our commitment to WWF, we are once again able to help an incredible cause," said Steven Izen, Founder and CEO of lokai. "We are thrilled to support WWF's tireless work to give a voice to the voiceless and help better the future of our planet. The wild lokai WWF partnership is the latest in a series of charity partnerships that will spread lokai's message of personal and global balance."
For more than 50 years, WWF has been on a mission to save the planet. The world's leading conservation organization, WWF works in 100 countries to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to diversity of life on Earth. They are the voice for the creatures that have no voice, seeking to build a future in which people live in harmony with nature.
Founded in 2013, lokai has committed to donating 10% of its net profits to a variety of non-profit organizations. To further raise awareness for WWF, lokai encourages supporters to show us where in the wild you live lokai by tagging a photo of your wild lokai on Instagram or Twitter using @livelokai and #livelokai.
"Messages of hope like lokai's are important to WWF and our supporters, as we strive to overcome unprecedented threats to our world and its wildlife," said Sheri Turnbow, Senior Director of Private Sector Engagement for World Wildlife Fund. "The launch of wild lokai along with lokai's funding commitment will help WWF further our on-the-ground conservation efforts while reminding supporters that together, anything is achievable."
Through word-of-mouth, social media, influencers and celebrities, lokai has sold over one million bracelets and built an enthusiastic #livelokai community in over 159 countries. Celebrity fans of lokai include Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Zoe Saldana, Alessandra Ambrosio and Zac Efron, among others.
