DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Sentry Data Systems, Inc., the 2014 KLAS Category Leader for 340B Management Solutions and provider of SaaS-based technology solutions that help healthcare providers manage costs, compliance and outcomes, announced today the addition of Dr. Lisa M. Scholz to the company's executive leadership team as Senior Vice President, Market Strategy. In this role, Scholz will work to ensure that Sentry's platform maintains its industry-leading position by remaining aligned with current and future market demands.
Scholz joins Sentry after three years as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President at 340B Health (formerly Safety Net Hospitals for Pharmaceutical Access, or SNHPA), a membership organization of more than 1,100 public and private nonprofit hospitals and health systems throughout the U.S. that participate in the 340B drug pricing program. During her tenure, she grew the association's membership, guided association strategy, and helped the organization influence legislative decisions and effect program change. She maintained a high profile in the industry through her social media presence, published articles, speaking engagements and attendance at 340B advocacy events throughout the country. Prior to 340B Health, Scholz spent nearly 20 years working as a pharmacist, pharmacy operations manager and director of pharmacy at a 1,000-bed hospital health system in Texas and served as Vice President of the HRSA Pharmacy Services Support Center at the American Pharmacists Association, where she secured a five-year contract to provide HRSA's Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) with assistance and expertise in the delivery of pharmaceutical services and 340B support. Scholz has both a doctorate in pharmacy and a master's in business administration. She is a registered pharmacist and pharmacist preceptor in Texas.
"With Lisa's knowledge of the 340B program, familiarity with key industry stakeholders, and her years of advocacy on behalf of covered entities and patients who benefit from the program, we're fortunate to have her onboard to help us continue providing the best solutions for our clients," said Travis Leonardi, CEO of Sentry Data Systems. "Lisa understands the importance of the 340B program in helping our clients stretch scarce federal resources—and she understands the 340B compliance challenges that our solutions help clients address."
"I'm passionate about the 340B program," Scholz said. "From being around the industry throughout the history of the program, I've seen firsthand the benefits it provides for covered entities. As a pharmacist and 340B advocate, I've witnessed the growth of the 340B program, and to ensure its longevity, I wanted to align with a company known for holding compliance and integrity to the highest degree. It's no secret that Sentry provides its customers with a unique level of ownership and control over 340B compliance, allowing healthcare providers to focus on delivering cost-effective patient care. I'm excited to make this move to join Sentry's team. They are the only 340B solution out there that holds the same core values as I do around the 340B program, and I'm excited to continue my work supporting hospitals and health systems as part of an industry-leading solution."
Sentry Data Systems will participate in the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting in New Orleans, Dec. 6 – 10, 2015 and the 340B Coalition Winter Conference in San Diego, Feb. 17 – 19, 2016.
About 340B
The 340B Program was established in 1992 to help "stretch scarce federal resources as far as possible, reaching more eligible patients and providing more comprehensive services" by reducing the amount that hospitals and other covered entities spend on outpatient drugs. Today, covered entities partner with contracted pharmacies in their area to make medications more accessible and convenient, helping to improve medication adherence, improve outcomes, and reduce readmissions.
