Liquidware Labs Named to Everything Channel's CRN "Virtualization 100" and "100 People You Don't Know But Should"
Lists Recognize the Top 100 Vendors in the Virtualization Space and Behind-the-Scenes Influencers in the IT Channel
ATLANTA, July 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Liquidware Labs, the leader in desktop transformation, today announced that it has been recognized by Everything Channel as a part of CRN's new Virtualization 100 list, and that Jason Mattox, Liquidware Labs' Chief Technology Officer, was named to CRN's 2011 "100 People You Don't Know But Should" list.
Featuring the top 100 vendors in the virtualization space as identified by the editorial staff of CRN, the Virtualization 100 serves as the de facto resource by which VARs can begin to evaluate the best virtualization products for their business. According to the CRN Fast Growth Study, virtualization is the number one technology that VARs are investing in over the next year. The CRN Virtualization 100 list highlights the most compelling virtualization vendors and solutions to best meet the growing needs of the channel.
"Desktop virtualization promises to transform the way companies do business, and there is no surprise that VARs would be looking to extend their portfolios with robust offerings in this area," said David Bieneman, CEO of Liquidware Labs. "Liquidware Labs offers a number of strategic advantages to VARs, including the recognized quality of our products by VMware® and Citrix®, and the fact that we offer a complete bundle that covers assessment, profile management, user- experience validation, security and very soon, user application management. Liquidware Labs is a one-stop shop of solutions that address the core performance of virtual desktops and integrates smoothly into the platforms. We are pleased that CRN chooses to recognize the quality and strength of our offerings by naming us to the Virtualization 100."
Bieneman also adds that Liquidware Labs promotes their partners' business goals with Acceler8, their comprehensive and profitable partner program, which offers lucrative margins on products, deal registration, training, co-marketing opportunities, and technical support.
"VARs who are looking to enter the desktop virtualization space can fast-track by gaining solid proficiency in assessing customers' physical environments," said Bieneman. "Our Stratusphere FIT™ is widely acknowledged to be the leading assessment solution on the market. This solution offers a proven methodology for many levels of channel partners to deliver the industry's first large-scale automated VDI, application virtualization, and Windows® 7 migrations. We also support our partners with no-charge assessments for up to 500 desktop seats per client. What we are looking for is a strong commitment from VARs to dedicate themselves to becoming experts in desktop virtualization and with our solutions," said Bieneman.

While the CRN Virtualization 100 list highlights the top vendors for the channel, the "100 People You Don't Know But Should" list recognizes individual professionals within a vendor organization who are responsible for driving the behind-the-scenes efforts in channel marketing, operations and sales. They lead their channel program without fanfare, exhibiting the strength, determination and creativity required to support solution providers on a daily basis. Liquidware CTO, Jason Mattox was named in this list based on his long track record working in the virtualization industry.
Industry watchers will recall that Mattox was one of the original founding members of Vizioncore™, which was acquired by Quest Software®. Mattox played a central role in propelling the company from startup through hyper-growth by co-creating and supporting the industry's first commercially available hot-backup for VMware. Mattox oversaw key innovations in virtualized backup and recovery that significantly increased speed and scalability. These innovations included object-level recovery from images, Active Block Mapping (ABM), file-level catalog at image level, and image-level job multi-streaming.
Prior to Vizioncore, Mattox specialized in migrating corporations from PCs to virtual desktops using technologies such as Windows Server®, IGC MultiNode™, and MaxSpeed MaxStations™, an early stage multi-user desktop virtualization product ahead of its time, followed by Microsoft® Windows Terminal Server and various Citrix® products. Mattox gained valuable experience building on-demand desktops in server-based computing (SBC) environments. The experience Mattox gained building a user's profile and desktop on-demand provides a significant advantage in today's desktop and user virtualization markets, especially when leveraging stateless non-persistent desktops in VDI environments.
"As someone who has worked with virtualization technologies for over a decade, I am still amazed at the potential of this technology to change IT. In particular, those companies who invest in virtualizing their desktops are going to leapfrog over their competition in terms of productivity, efficiency and security gains," said Mattox. "We see our mission at Liquidware Labs to create new software that can more than meet the demands of companies and support their efforts to virtualize."
Mattox came to Liquidware Labs earlier this year to join a team of other virtualization industry veterans who started the company in 2009. "We saw the potential for virtualization back in 2002, and we still see more opportunities to improve IT every single day. I am very happy that CRN has chosen to recognize my contributions to virtualization technology offerings by placing me on their list of '100 People You Don't Know But Should' list," said Mattox.
"From server to storage to desktop virtualization, this technology will become a mainstay for businesses large and small and one of the more profitable technologies for VARs to integrate and sell. The Virtualization 100 list showcases the best virtualization technology solutions to help VARs navigate the virtualization landscape and determine which vendor is best suited to meet their unique needs," said Kelley Damore, Vice President, Editorial Director, Everything Channel. "In addition, our first annual list of '100 People You Don't Know But Should' honors the unsung leaders in the IT channel -- influencers within a vendor organization who are making a significant impact on the company's channel program, and the channel as a whole, by working in any capacity necessary to drive profit and success."
