LightPointe Introduces 2nd Generation of the Industry's Highest Powered, Longest Distance, and Lowest Latency 80 GHz Point to Point Backhaul Radios, Available in Six Configurations
Aire X-Stream Series, which is the de-facto standard in High Frequency Trading and other Ultra Low Latency networks, provides faster-than-fiber data transmission.
SAN DIEGO, Nov. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- LightPointe, the number one manufacturer of outdoor point-to-point radios and laser bridges used for faster-than-fiber data networks, announced the introduction of six new 80 GHz e-band frequency backhaul radios, the second generation of its Ultra Low Latency (ULL) Aire X-Stream Series. The Aire X-Stream Series is the highest powered and lowest latency 80 GHz wireless solution in the world and has become the de-facto standard in networks requiring the absolute fastest data transmission, such as High Speed Trading (HFT) networks, military and homeland security applications, and other time-sensitive data and video backhaul environments.
"The second generation Aire X-Stream Series continues our leadership as the number one manufacturer of hybrid, gigabit capacity point to point wireless bridges," said Dr. Heinz Willebrand, CEO of LightPointe. "These radios have become the de-facto industry standard in the world's fastest data networks, which placed a high level responsibility on our shoulders to work closely with our customers on tangible enhancements to the first generation. The radios now have more power and are available in six configurations and three antenna options, including a new 3 foot Extra Long Range high gain antenna which provides the industry's longest distances, enabling customers to connect buildings or towers up to ten miles or more apart, or daisy-chain links back to back for faster-than-fiber transmission between cities or even states and countries. With equipment latency hundreds of times better than alternative radios, nothing is faster than the Aire X-Stream Series for data transmission—not even fiber, which is far more expensive to deploy and can involve years obtaining regulatory and city infrastructure trenching and repair permits."
LightPointe radios provide up to "Five Nines" availability, enabling downtime less than 5.26 minutes annually. The company has deployed over 20,000 wireless solutions since 1998. Its millimeter wave radios and Free Space Optics enable organizations—including businesses, hospitals, government agencies, and schools—to connect buildings wirelessly at 2.5 Gbps.
