Lifestyle Foods Owner Tri's for PA Kids
CEO Jason Bross Competes in Half-Ironman Triathlon for Local Junior Achievement
YORK, Pa., July 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing the trend of Lifestyle Foods' emphasis on fitness and health, CEO Jason Bross has committed to compete in a half-distance Ironman triathlon to raise money and awareness for Junior Achievement. Bross and the Lifestyle Foods team have set out to raise $15,000 to supplement important resources that JA will use to have a positive influence on the lives and futures of local youth.
Along with fitness and health, Bross values education and goal achievement and is passionate about doing his part to help in educating the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. He has personally volunteered his time to Junior Achievement on multiple occasions and recently completed a week-long course with a 5th grade class at East York Elementary School.
"I really enjoyed spending time with the kids in their classroom and sharing my knowledge with them," he said. "It's amazing to see how smart and adept they are at such a young age."
Junior Achievement teaches children important life lessons like how to acquire a job and how to become a productive and efficient citizen and employee. It also gives children insights into possible career options. This valuable (and teacher-loved) organization also helps children in their development of critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills. Advanced topics include how the economy works and how to manage money.
Throughout the next three months, Jason will be tracking his exercise habits through the Lifestyle Foods blog, found at http://www.lifestylefoods.com. He will be posting videos and exercise tips from himself and his certified personal trainer along the way, sharing what he learns about himself and the fitness world during a grueling training process. Having never competed in a triathlon before (let alone an Ironman) Jason will be expected to complete a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run. The event will be held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on October 8th.

About Lifestyle Foods:
Lifestyle Foods launched in 2006, filling a void in the marketplace to provide healthy grab-and-go consumer products in the perishable category. Their focus is to fit a new trendy, health-conscious generation of customers with whom the company itself can relate. The company's founder and CEO, Jason Bross, noticed an opening in the market for healthy, tasty, and ready-to-eat products. Other products can be deceiving, offering convenience and not nutrition. This prompted the team to conduct worldwide research seeking healthy innovations. Continuing their research on what products customers crave, Lifestyle Foods provides new options with a variety of choices to fit any taste.
