NEW YORK, Nov. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2018 ANA Multicultural Excellence Awards have named Lexus and Marvel's Black Panther "Long Live The King" the Grand Prize Winner in the Significant Results category. The campaign, a study in brand engagement, integration, technological innovation and cultural celebration, was developed by Walton Isaacson.
The Black Panther partnership fulfilled both strategic imperatives and functional objectives, including:
- The introduction of the Lexus LS500 and LC500 and underscoring their technological and performance superiority
- Engagement with Total Market, inclusive of Black and other diverse influencers who are known to be change agents
- The disruption of historical expectations surrounding the Lexus brand
- The unleashing of a new, innovative way of looking at the Lexus brand
Results were unprecedented for Lexus and the Marvel Black Panther campaign became the most viewed content in the company's history.
The ANA Multicultural Excellence Awards recognize client-side marketers and their agency or media partners who produced multicultural advertising campaigns between June 2017 and June 2018. Lexus' general market agency Team One handled Media and PR for the campaign. This year's competition, open to both ANA members and nonmembers, received 230 entries from which 12 grand prize winners were selected.
