NEWARK, N.J., March 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Legal-Bay LLC, The Lawsuit Settlement Funding Company which operates lawsuitssettlementfunding.com, reported today that a Queens woman won a $875K settlement last year but never saw a penny of it from her personal injury attorney.

According to an article in The NY Post, a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit by Margaret Last and her husband claim her attorneys, Stuart Schlesinger and his son Michael, won her a $875K settlement last year but she has yet to receive any money from it. Originally, Last had issues with her ankle and then went to a podiatrist. However, the doctor's treatment "left her out of work and in constant pain," so she went to a lawyer. The Schlesingers won her a $875,000 payout, but unfortunately she never got it.
This is not the only victim either, according to federal agents, who arrested Stuart Schlesinger in December on a charge of wire-fraud. According to the Post's article, a criminal complaint indicates that Schlesinger "pocketed at least $3 million in legal settlements from clients, lying about the status of cases and avoiding payouts."
