ATLANTA, March 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Legal-Bay LLC, The Lawsuit Settlement Funding Company which operates lawsuitssettlementfunding.com, reported today that Erin Andrews has been awarded $55 million by a jury in Nashville over the secret recording and subsequent release of a video showing her naked during a stay in the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University. Sportscaster Andrews' original civil lawsuit asked for $75 million, however, the jurors reached an award of $55 million.

The jurors found her stalker, Michael David Barrett, to be 51% at fault, which requires he pay more than $28 million. They found West End Hotel Partners (which owns the Nashville Marriott) to be 49% at fault, resulting in them having to dish out more than $26 million.
Her stalker, Michael David Barrett, recorded the video in 2008 after he "used a hacksaw to tamper with her room's peephole," according to ABC News. He was convicted of stalking Erin Andrews and then sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
West End Hotel Partners denies wrongdoing, saying that they are not responsible for Barrett's "criminal actions." It is unknown at this time if they will appeal the decision, which could result in a verdict on appeal.
