UBM Live, organisers of Facilities Show, has announced tremendous growth in international visitors and leading companies attending the event. The exhibition, run in exclusive partnership with the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), is the world's leading event dedicated to facilities management. Over 10,000 people attended the event in June 2014.
Attendees were a real cross-section of the economy and testament to the variety of market-leading exhibitors and the quality of educational content and networking opportunities. Visitors included pertinent representatives from: IBM, Burberry, Wellcome Trust, Nandos, Pinsent Masons, G4S, KPMG, Deloitte, Amey, David Lloyd, Care UK, Compass, RBS, Barclays, Credit Suisse, Mastercard, CBRE, Unite Group, Home Retail Group and Rio Tinto. The international contingent was particularly strong with turnout from across the western world and further afield, including: Ireland, Belgium, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Israel, China, UAE, Qatar, United States, Nigeria and India.
Fergus Bird, Group Event Manager, UBM Live, said:
"The calibre of the event is truly remarkable. We are delighted to host this annual hub for FM buyers and sellers. Alongside this, we have buzzing seminar theatres that focus on best practice and numerous gritty debates with the opinion makers and trend setters of the industry. We see the big boys meeting and doing business but it is also commonplace for SMEs to sell to MNCs at Facilities Show! It is an inspiring event to attend."
Mitie, the strategic outsourcing company, was the show partner for the 2nd year running. They were joined by other TFMs and major suppliers including - Vinci, Norland, PHS Group, Interserve, Bellrock and Helistrat - who brought much gravitas to the show. One hugely successful new feature of this year's exhibition was a hosted "Meet the Buyer" which involved companies who were exhibiting at the event having face time with senior procurement executives from the TFM companies. There was also a panel debate featuring Martyn Freeman, MD, Mitie facilities management, Gareth Rhys Williams, CEO, PHS Group, Martin Holt, CEO, Bellrock, Tony Sanders, Managing Director, Commercial Division, Interserve, which was one of the most heavily attended of the event.
In more good news, notwithstanding the move from NEC Birmingham to ExCeL London this year, Facilities Show maintained a good spread of visitors from across the country. Another benefit of the new venue was the co-location of the show with other events within the Protection & Management series covering security, fire, safety & health, energy & environment and service management. In total, over 1700 companies exhibited across the series and 40,000 people attended the ExCeL over the three days in June. Facilities managers attending heralded this one-stop shop for all their needs, a true rarity for the diverse needs of the FM.
Facilities Show 2015 will take place Jun 16-18 at London ExCeL. For more information, visit: http://www.facilitiesshow.com
