INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As the official beer of the NFL and Super Bowl XLVI, Bud Light wants to remind adult fans to celebrate responsibly and have a game plan for a safe ride home. Today, Bud Light, AAA Hoosier Motor Club, Yellow Cab of Indianapolis, Broad Ripple Village and Zink Distributing have joined the City of Indianapolis and local law enforcement representatives for a press conference at the Bud Light Hotel to encourage fans to plan ahead by using a designated driver or alternate transportation.

"As host of the Bud Light Hotel and concerts throughout the week, we are working with partners throughout Indianapolis to encourage guests to celebrate responsibly and providing options to get home safely," said William Bradley, senior director of Corporate Social Responsibility for Anheuser-Busch (brewer of Bud Light). "Whether attending an event, hosting a game-watching party at home or hanging at a sports bar, fans should designate a driver before the activities kick off. After all, these are our roads, and it's our collective responsibility to help keep them safe."
Bud Light and Zink Distributing are partnering with Yellow Cab Indianapolis, Broad Ripple Village and AAA Hoosier Motor Club to assist those who need a safe ride home from events at the Bud Light Hotel (Feb. 2-5) and to a number of adult consumers throughout the Indianapolis area during the week leading up to the Super Bowl. Cab vouchers for $25 will be distributed by local establishments and at the Bud Light Hotel's "Responsible Drinking" booth. Event attendees also can learn more about Anheuser-Busch's many alcohol responsibility programs and be rewarded for pledging to be a designated driver.
AAA Hoosier Motor Club's "Tow to Go" program provides adult patrons and their vehicles with a free ride – and tow – home if they have had too much to drink. "Tow to Go" will be available to patrons in the Indianapolis area who call 317-710-6815. Services will be available Feb. 2 through Feb. 4, from 6 p.m. to midnight. On Super Bowl Sunday, service will run from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
In addition to the "Tow to Go" program, Bud Light and AAA Hoosier Motor Club are providing a GREEN TEAM that provides AAA service technicians to help motorists with lockouts, flat tires and dead batteries. This assistance is provided using eco-friendly Segways and battery-operated golf carts which are free of exhaust and consume no fossil fuels. To get assistance, motorists simply call 877-222-7111. The service will be offered from Feb. 2 through Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. to midnight.

More than 141 million American adults have been a designated driver or been driven home by one, according to a 2011 survey conducted by GfK Custom Research North America.
