Latino Bloggers Compensation Survey Reveals Bloggers Want to Get Some Form of Payment for Promoting Products and/or Services
Discovery Familia sponsored the survey in partnership with the Hispanic Public Relations Association, the Hispanic PR Blog and Mami2Mommy
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A national survey of Hispanic bloggers reveals that most Latino bloggers feel they should be able to charge companies, agencies and/or brands certain fees for promoting products and/or services on their blogs, Twitter and Facebook pages.
Sponsored by Discovery Familia in partnership with the Hispanic Public Relations Association, the Hispanic PR Blog and Mami2Mommy, the 2010 Latino Bloggers Compensation Survey drew responses from 80 Hispanic bloggers that write about topics ranging from motherhood to technology.
"We know the topic of compensation is a sensitive one and at times controversial for bloggers," said Lourdes Rodriguez, president of HPRA Los Angeles. "But at the same time this information is invaluable to brand marketers and agencies. This is just the first of many larger initiatives that HPRA is undertaking with the Hispanic PR Blog and Hispanicize to shed more light and insights into the field of Latino social media."
Among the compensation survey's findings were that:
- 88% of the Latino bloggers surveyed felt compensation was important to them
- 52% of Latino bloggers said it was important for Hispanic bloggers to standardize the rates they charge for sponsored posts and Twitter events
- 61% of the bloggers surveyed are presently accepting Google or other advertising network ads
The full results of the survey, including specific insights into the rates most bloggers feel should be charged for such social media marketing tactics as Twitter parties and sponsored posts are available online at http://www.slideshare.net/Hispanicize/2010-latino-blogger-compensation-survey.
