Lanyon Selected as Event Technology Provider by Meeting Professionals International
RegOnline® by Lanyon will power events for the association.
DALLAS, June 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/-- Lanyon, a global leader in meetings, events and travel software, today announced that Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has selected the company's attendee management software, RegOnline® by Lanyon, to power MPI Academy education events, such as the Experiential Event Series. The association is also leveraging the partnership to give its chapters the opportunity to utilize the technology for their meetings and events. The agreement continues Lanyon's commitment to provide best-in-class software to leading associations.
"MPI's selection of Lanyon is a tremendous honor, and validation that our software is the best-in-class that enables our customers to run all of their meetings and events from one solution," said David Bonnette, CEO of Lanyon. "Our partnerships with MPI, GBTA, and PCMA make it clear that when the top associations in meetings, events, and travel need a partner to power their events, they choose Lanyon."
Event technology has become an increasing focal point for associations. According to a study by SmithBucklin, only 11% of associations are planning on outsourcing their event management, leaving 89% of associations reliant on internal staff to organize their meetings and events. Event technology can help those planners automate manual processes and gather data, giving them more time to deliver an exceptional attendee experience at the event, while delivering value and business results.
"We strive to make the attendee experience at our events as seamless as possible, so it is critical we leverage innovative and robust technology to manage our registration process," said Paul Van Deventer, president and CEO of MPI. "We believe Lanyon's software has the features and functionality to help make our MPI Academy events a success and we are happy to extend the tool to our chapters for their educational and networking events as part of our overarching agreement."
This announcement continues Lanyon's partnership with the leading associations in the meetings, events, and travel industries, as it comes on the heels of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) selecting Lanyon to power the association's global events. Lanyon also powers the annual conferences for the Professional Conference Management Association (PCMA). In addition, Lanyon software powers more than 80% of the Fortune 100, some of the largest conferences in the world—including Salesforce's Dreamforce—meetings and events for thousands of small and medium businesses, and more than 100,000 hotels.
