Featured Speakers at Food Week include:
- Michael Landa, Director of FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, and Philip Derfler, Deputy Administrator of the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service, at the January 25th food safety conference;

Siddiqui, Chief Agricultural Negotiator in the Office of the United States Trade Representative, Executive Office of the President, and Carlos Alvarez Antolinez, Minister Counselor, Food Safety, Health and Consumer Affairs at the Delegation of the European Union, at the January 26th global developments conference.
This annual conference series provides practical guidance and an educational forum on the latest legal and regulatory developments affecting all sectors of the food industry. The content addresses the core of what food safety experts, food engineers, food law practitioners and food manufacturers do every day.
The two-day Introduction to Food Law and Regulation course (Jan. 23-24) provides an in-depth overview of food law and regulation by exploring key concepts and the relationship between state law and FDA regulations; helps make sense of the various government agencies with authority over the food industry (FDA, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Federal Trade Commission, among others), and the process those agencies use to promulgate and enforce regulations; provides guidance on the general requirements for food labeling and examines advertising; explores the basics of dietary supplement oversight and the regulation of cosmetics; and provides important updates about the Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA).
Day Two of Food Week (Jan. 24) — Advertising, Labeling and Nutrition: Legal Developments — focuses on recent FTC actions involving both labeling and advertising, voluntary guidelines on food marketed to children, and the proliferation of class actions involving "natural," "whole grain," and "0 trans fat" claims.
Day Three of Food Week (Jan. 25) — Food Safety at the Crossroads: How FSMA Is Changing the Landscape — addresses key regulatory developments since the passage of the Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA). FSMA is the most sweeping change in food regulation in six decades. Top FDA officials, industry experts and other food safety stakeholders will be featured.
Day Four of Food Week (Jan. 25) — Food Law and Regulation Go Global: What's Your Food GPS? — focuses on critical issues including food chain security, supply challenges and traceability. Session topics will include an update from five FDA Country/Regional Directors, new developments in food regulation in the European Union, food defense and food security, and navigating new frontiers in the international food trade of China and Brazil.
